Ice Cream Fling Thing, Saturday, June 7
Cubberley Community Center!
The Bows and Beaus Singles and Couples Square Dance Club of the
Mountain View /
Los Altos
area of California
is a member of the
Santa Clara Valley Square Dancers Association (SCVSDA),
and is one of the longest operating and most respected square dance clubs in the Santa Clara Valley. Our caller,
Keith Ferguson,
has been calling for the club since 1987. He has been voted one of the Top Ten callers by
members of the SCVSDA and especially enjoys teaching newer dancers.
Learn to Square Dance!
Square dancing is lots of fun,
a great way to meet people, and is also one of the easiest forms of exercise around!
Once you have learned the basics (which for us means up through the Plus program),
then you can literally dance almost every night of the week, as well as on the weekends, if you want!
There are often dances (called Hoedowns) on weekends, with even larger events
at various times throughout the year.
Our next class is planned to begin in January, 2009.
The location and time will be announced as soon as they are known. If you'd like further information, please
send us a message telling how to
contact you! Both singles and couples are welcome, and you may attend either with or without a partner!

- Videos of the moves we have taught!
- The Saddlebrooke Squares in Tucson, Arizona, and their caller, Larry Kraber,
have produced a series of online teaching videos.
We are now providing links to these videos from our
List of Moves Taught page.
Each of these short videos shows several calls, and may include some calls that
have not yet been taught in our class.
These videos are designed as teaching aids, and describe and show the most common usage of each call.
For an exact definition of each move, use the Definitions & Animations link, described below.
The Definitions & Animations link on the
List of Moves Taught page goes to a resource provided
by our local Square Dancers' Association. This page provides
the definition of each move and links to several sites providing
animated figures illustrating the moves.
- What's been taught?
- Each week we will post a list of all the moves that have been taught.
