The Bows and Beaus Singles and Couples Square Dance Club of the
Mountain View /
Los Altos
area of California
is a member of the
Santa Clara Valley Square Dancers Association (SCVSDA),
and is one of the longest operating and most respected square dance clubs in the Santa Clara Valley. Our caller,
Keith Ferguson,
has been calling for the club since 1987. He has been voted one of the Top Ten callers by
members of the SCVSDA and especially enjoys teaching newer dancers.

Our class is off to a great start!
Although registration for this class is now closed, we'd like to let you know about future classes. Just
send us a message and we'll be happy to send information.
Our classes are open to both singles and couples, and you may attend either with or without a partner!
Square dancing is lots of fun,
a great way to meet people, and provides enjoyable exercise for both the mind and body!
Once you have learned the basics
(which for us means up through the internationally recognized Plus program),
you can dance almost every night of the week, if you wish!
There are often dances (called Hoedowns) on weekends, with even larger events
at various times throughout the year.

Club Information
The club dances the Plus program of Western Square Dancing
on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Partners are
NOT
required.

The club also sponsors a beginning square dance class
each year on Monday evenings.

The Ice Cream Fling Thing!
40th Annual -- June 2, 2012

Since 1973 local square dancers have welcomed the month of June by attending the
Ice Cream Fling Thing,
the Anniversary Dance of the Bows & Beaus.
Held the first Saturday of June, this year's
40th Annual dance will be on June 2, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at
John Muir Middle School,
1260 Branham Lane, in San Jose.

- Alumni Night, Wednesday, February 15
- Former members of Bows & Beaus are especially invited to visit the club for our annual
Alumni Night Party on Wednesday, February 15, from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. at
Loyola Elementary School.
Almost 100 invitations have been sent out, but if we missed you
we may not have your current address (or we haven't heard from you for several years so thought you
were no longer interested). We hope you'll show up! If you're a former member and do not receive an
invitation, please send us a message and let us know
your current address so we can send you future invitations! Better yet, come on
February 15 and give us your address in person!
- DBD Plus Workshop
- This "Dancing by Definition" (DBD) workshop is conducted during the second and third tips
of most club dance nights.
- Keep Your Membership Status Up-To-Date!
- Obtain forms for requesting a Leave of Absence (2 to 6 months) or
for a change of address, telephone, e-mail, or emergency contact information.

- WELCOME to our new dancers!

- Monday, February 13, Valentine's Theme Night
- Our "Theme Night" in February will be the day before Valentine's Day.
For this first "Theme Night", and to welcome our new dancers, a cake will be provided,
but bring additional finger food (if you wish).
And, of course, we will also be learning and dancing new calls!
- Newer Dancer Hoedown on Saturday, March 24
- Plan to attend our Newer Dancer Hoedown on Saturday evening, March 24, sponsored by
Bows & Beaus. More information later, but please save the date!
